A very healthy pasta recipe for kids with plenty of nutrition

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup boiled conchigliette (any pasta of your choice)

  • 1/4 cp boiled carrot and cauliflower puree

  • 1 cheddar cheese slice (or any other cheese of your choice)

  • 1/2 tbsp butter

  • 1/2 tbsp plain flour

  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 1/2 tsp oregano

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp freshly crushed black pepper

  • (Optional) 1/4 tsp parsley

Directions

  • Boil the pasta as per instruction on the packaging
  • Chop the carrots and cauliflower. Boil them in a sauce pan over a medium flame until they become soft
  • Make a smooth puree of the carrot and cauliflower with a hand blender or food processor
  • Heat a pan on a medium flame and melt the butter
  • Add plain flour and saute for 1 minute
  • Pour in the milk and cook until the sauce thickens
  • Add the vegetable puree to the white sauce and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame
  • Simmer the flame and add the cheese slice. Stir continuously until the sauce become silky smooth
  • Fold in the boiled pasta and mix well
  • Season with salt, black pepper, oregano and parsley

Notes

  • If making for kids, conchigliette may be a good choice as they are bite size and easy for toddlers to chew
